I Heard That!

It's A JOY to support young
enterprising women who are doing something positive
to enhance their lives! MS. YVONNE HINES is one such
lady who made her DREAM COME TRUE! She has made a
POSITIVE IMPACT to the newly redeveloped business
community on the Bayview Third Street corridor.
Yvonne was fortunate to obtain
a Small business Loan, opened "PRALINES by YVONNE,"
there in a neat small retail space next door to the
Offices for Justice office, where she sells homemade
pecan candy and desserts - her Sweet Potato and
Pecan Pie recipe is DELICIOUS!!! OUT OF SIGHT!!!
(Shared a few sampling of pies with sweet-tooth
FLOYD GLENN of DOGLEG Golf shop).
The shop is culturally
gorgeous - exterior painted a dark green. To think,
Yvonne started baking in her grandmother's kitchen -
the late VERMELL HINES taught her well and PASSED
THE TORCH!
A member of Providence Baptist
Church on 3rd-Street, where Yvonne gained her fame
selling soulful goodies from the back of her care;
understand after morning service church folks
couldn't wait to buy their favorite sweets!
Her Baking came to the
Attention of STATE SENATOR CAROLE MIGDEN! Last
Friday afternoon Yvonne planned a small RECEPTION
inviting a few supporters and family members to b on
had when the SENATOR would visit the shop, and
PRESENT HER WITH A PROCLAMATION in recognition of
her entrepreneurial accomplishment! AND how I
happened to be in the nix to capture the happy and
significant moment in support of this young lady
I've known since her grammar school days in the
INGLESIDE neighborhood. UNFORTUNATELY SENATOR MIGDEN
DID NOT MAKE THE SCENE!
Everyone was DISAPPOINTED when
announced SENATOR MIGDEN was delayed in traffic when
traveling from Sacrament (later that evening it was
reported on the NEWS Migden was involved in an
accident. A representative from the Senator's office
did the honors.
Among
well-wishers there to celebrate with Yvonne were
family members, friends, supporters, and Small
business officials. Yvonne's proud family...of
course NITA HINES UNOFFICIAL: publicist and Yvonne's
Aunt.
Note: low sugar and no sugar desserts are
available for individuals with dietary restrictions.
